The ongoing rift between the Pakistan government and the Supreme Court escalated after Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Sunday said that the judiciary should be held accountable for illegal and unconstitutional steps taken during the past 75 years, Geo News reported.
The former Prime Minister lambasted the PDM government saying they are now openly attacking the Supreme Court. The PTI chairman Imran Khan said that 70 per cent of people have no representation in the provincial and National Assembly.
"The meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly has been called to be held at 4 pm on May 7, 2023," a release from the Office of the President states. Earlier, the Parliament session ended on April 28.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday, secured a vote of confidence, with 180 members expressing "full confidence" in his ability to rule from the National Assembly, Dawn reported.
