Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday visited the Attari border.
The operations were carried out by combined teams of Assam Rifles and Excise and Narcotics Department Champhai based on specific information. During the operation, four individuals were also arrested.
According to the police, the drugs were transported from Pakistan using drones. The Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav termed the crackdown "a big blow to trans-border narcotic network".
The ruling came during the hearing of three petitions filed by convicts who challenged the withholding of remissions to them by the authorities of respective prisons in the light of amendments made in the Control of Narcotics Substance Act (CNSA), 1997, last year.

The accused, identified as 31-year-old Juned Khan alias Juber, hailing from Bairam Nagar of Uttar Pradesh’s Bilaspur was arrested from Ghazipur Shamshan Ghat with 1.541 kilograms of heroin, valued at over Rs 1.5 crore, police said on Tuesday.

Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday early morning at around 4.10 am intercepted the movement of a suspected drone near Gatti Rajoke village in Ferozepur.
The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Azad Maidan unit in Mumbai arrested arrested four drug peddlers and seized drugs worth over Rs 1 crore from their possession, officials said on Friday.
