Muraleedharan Nair, writing in AICIS said that the primary aim of China setting up Confucius Institutes abroad is for pushing CPC's interests and executing its bidding, rather than promoting Chinese culture and the Mandarin language, its ostensible objectives.
On the night of April 27, 28, 2023, the IAF C-130J aircraft rescued 121 personnel from a small airstrip at Wadi Seidna, which is about 40 km North of Khartoum, Sudan, the IAF said in a statement.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on Thursday received stranded Indians from Port Sudan at Jeddah under Operation Kaveri, an operation India launched to evacuate its citizens from battle-torn Sudan.
As Operation Kaveri is underway, another batch of 297 Indians have been rescued from Sudan and have arrived at Jeddah by INS Teg, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said on Thursday.
As many as 128 Indian nationals, evacuated from conflict-ridden Sudan, arrived at Saudi Arabia's Jeddah under "Operation Kaveri" by the Indian Air Force aircraft C-130J flight, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said on Thursday.
"Received family of Albert Augestine, an Indian who died in Sudan at Jeddah by IAF C130 J aircraft. Arranged tickets immediately for the family to reach Kochi. Assured of all possible assistance to the family," MoS MEA V Muraleedharan tweeted.
