Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was recently the victim of an attack at his Bandra residence, was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after five days of treatment.
The arrested accused in the stabbing attack on actor Saif Ali Khan was taken to different locations by the Mumbai police as part of the investigation to recreate the crime scene.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Monday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the Saif Ali Khan stabbing attack accused was confirmed to be a native of Bangladesh by Mumbai police, saying that all Bangladeshis should be 'removed' from the country.
Speaking on the incident, Mhaske said, "The nationality of the labourers coming here should be checked. They enter India to work, but some end up committing crimes and engaging in terrorism."
In the latest development of the Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident, the cops have caught an accused who is identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad. He is a native of the Jhalokati district in Bangladesh, according to the Mumbai police.
The Mumbai Police on Sunday morning confirmed that the person arrested for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan is an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh.
Pawar, who is also the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, said that the accused had entered the residence of Saif Ali Khan with the intention to commit robbery.
He said that it was not right to claim that the law and order situation in Mumbai and Maharashtra was not good. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was working for the development of all, Khan added.
Amid chaos over the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil on Sunday questioned Centre over the alleged influx of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi nationals coming to Maharashtra. He said that it was the commoners who were bearing the brunt of the same.
The accused arrested for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence has been sent to five-day police custody by Bandra Holiday Court on Sunday.
