A high-level Drug Destruction Committee of CBIC including senior officials of DRI and Mumbai Customs, on Tuesday destroyed 31.948 kg of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) worth Rs 265 crore, according to an official release.
Mumbai Customs has seized over 2.99 kg of gold valued at Rs 1.72 crore in five different cases at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).

In a significant crackdown on smuggling, Mumbai Airport Customs officials intercepted an Indian national arriving from Dubai and seized a cache of contraband, including gold jewellery, rhodium coins, and iPhones, according to an official statement.
Mumbai Customs department seized over 15.89 kg gold valued at approximately 8.07 crore across thirteen different cases within three days, the Airport Commissionerate said in a statement.
