Earlier, the Guinness Book of World Records for the maximum number of selfies was with China in 2016 with around 1 lakh selfies and now Maharashtra's Savitaribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) created the record of 10,42,538 selfies with soil.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in the programme marking the culmination of Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign's Amrit Kalash Yatra at Kartavya Path on Tuesday.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday said that through the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign, youths of the country are resolving to connect to our soil and remember the brave soldiers who laid their lives in the line of duty.
Speaking to ANI, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said, "The soil brought from all the 256 mandals on the conclusion of the campaign of 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' is a unique effort. Within this diversity lies the voice of unity."
The team of Amrit Kalash Yatra sent from Uttarakhand under the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign reached Delhi on Sunday morning, said an offical statement.
In "Amrit Kalash Yatra", 192 volunteers from 95 development blocks and 101 municipal bodies of remote areas of Devbhoomi and 166 volunteers from Nehru Yuva Kendra will represent Uttarakhand.
