In view of the upcoming holy festival of 'Mauni Amavasya' to be held on January 29, 48 special trains are scheduled to be run by the Northern Railway Lucknow Division for the convenience of the devotees attending the Mahakumbh Mela 2025.
The ongoing Mahakumbh-2025 in Prayagraj has witnessed an unprecedented turnout of devotees, with over 10 crore people taking a holy dip at the sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, since January the commencement of the mega spiritual event.
"We are preparing for the Mauni Amavasya now where we are anticipating large crowds of devotees. We are making arrangements for traffic, crowd management and making use of technology for the same. We are hopeful that we will be able to provide all the necessary facilities for the devotees,"
Maha Kumbh is one of the largest and most significant religious congregations in the world. The key 'snan' dates left are: January 29 (Mauni Amavasya - Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami - Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).
"The entire area has been divided into five zones and twelve sectors to streamline the arrangements. With the support of special police forces from the headquarters, we are ensuring that all devotees are safely guided to the site," said the SSP.
Among a congregation of over 5.182 million devotees gathered at the Sangam Triveni, 1 million Kalpvasis and 4.182 million pilgrims took a holy dip by 6 PM.
Speaking to ANI, Ayodhya Commissioner Gaurav Dayal said, "The devotees visiting the Maha Kumbh have been visiting Ayodhya temple afterwards. Especially after the holy baths, a huge influx of crowds is being witnessed here. We are expecting large crowds after the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya
Chief Secretary Singh highlighted that after 144 years, Paush Purnima and Makar Sankranti were celebrated together, offering a unique opportunity for a dress rehearsal ahead of Mauni Amavasya.
