Manipur Police in separate operations arrested seven cadres of various proscribed insurgent groups and recovered arms and ammunition during multiple raids across the state.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday assured the Parliament that her government was providing all assistance to violence-hit Manipur to speed up its economic recovery.
Manipur Police have arrested 15 cadres of various insurgent groups in multiple raids across the state on March 8 and 9, Manipur police said in an official statement.
This follows the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh on February 9 amid escalating violence and political instability that has plagued the state for nearly two years.
The 7th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly, which was scheduled to begin on February 10, was declared "null and void" with immediate effect, as per a notice released by Assembly Secretary K. Meghajit Singh on Sunday.
