New Delhi [India], February 14 (ANI): Congress leader Pawan Khera on Thursday criticised the BJP for its administrative failures, which he believed led to the imposition of Presidential rule in Manipur.

In his X post, the Congress leader criticising BJP said "double-engine government failed to govern, failed to heal, failed to protect."
He also criticised the imposition of the President's Rule in Manipur, calling it an acknowledgement of failure by the state and central governments.
"After 9 months of chaos, President's Rule is an admission of failure. A failure of the state government, the central leadership, and a Prime Minister who stayed silent while Manipur burned. This isn't governance; this is abandonment," Khera said in a post on X.
Targeting the BJP-led government, Khera further alleged that the crisis in Manipur was not just a matter of misgovernance but a result of divisive politics.
"Manipur's tragedy isn't just about misgovernance - it exposes BJP's politics of division. A state once known for its resilience is now trapped in an endless cycle of violence, deep mistrust, and despair. Where was the urgency when people were crying for help? Why was the Prime Minister missing when Manipur needed leadership the most?" he wrote.
On Thursday, President's Rule was imposed in Manipur, days after BJP leader N Biren Singh resigned as state Chief Minister nearly two years after ethnic violence erupted in the state.
The President's Rule was imposed after President Droupadi Murmu received a report from the state Governor.
Biren Singh, who resigned on Sunday said it has been an honour to serve the people of Manipur.
"I am extremely grateful to the Central government for timely actions, interventions, developmental work and implementation of various projects for safeguarding the interest of every single Manipuri," he wrote in his resignation letter.
Violence had erupted between the Meitei and the Kuki communities in Manipur after a rally by the All Tribal Students Union of Manipur (ATSUM) on May 3, 2023, following the Manipur High Court order directing the state to consider the inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribes list.
