"Government of Tripura has opened the following helpline numbers for providing support on a 24x7 basis to the residents of Tripura with respect to disturbance in Manipur," tweeted Tripura CM Manik Saha.
"These incidents are very unfortunate. The incidents were a result of a 'prevailing misunderstanding between two communities'," said CM in a video message on Thursday.
In the telephonic conversation with Manipur Chief Minister, the Union Home Minister was apprised of the present situation and the steps being taken by the State government to control it, sources said.
