Viswam in a letter to Manipur CM said that the state is grappling with violence for over two months now and the state machinery is “failing” in upholding law and order in the state.
Congress demanded the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh over the law and order situation in the conflict-ridden state and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence over the situation in Manipur.
"I appeal to the people who are with arms not to attack anything. Please maintain peace so that we can resource normalcy in the state....," said N Biren Singh while talking to reporters.
He said," We are planning to build nearly 4000 houses for those who have been displaced because of violence. The blueprint is yet to be finalised but we are looking to build a two-room set of such houses."
