Imphal (Manipur) [India], October 24 (ANI): As the state of Manipur returns to normalcy, Chief Minister N Biren Singh affirmed that Peace will be restored in the state.
"Peace will be restored, people will be happy", said CM Biren Singh while speaking to reporters in Manipur's Imphal.
CM Singh also laid the foundation stone of several development projects in Imphal.
Earlier in a post on X the Chief Minister complimented the Manipur Police on the seizure of Arms and ammunition from banned militant group CKLA. The Chief minister said the arrest showed that there was a conspiracy to target the state.
"In a major breakthrough by Manipur Police and Central armed forces, multiple weapons, ammunition, drugs and cash have been apprehended from Myanmar based militant group CKLA. The seized weapons include AK47, Insas, Sniper and M16 rifles along with huge cache of ammunition. Further, opium weighing about 2.5 kg, Rs 4,86,500 cash and various other items were also recovered. Earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have taken up cases wherein it was particularly stated that there exists a transnational conspiracy by Myanmar and Bangladesh based leadership of terror outfits to wage war against the Government of India by exploiting the current unrest in Manipur. Today's apprehension of CKLA cadres and the recovery of weapons has yet again underscores a transnational plot aimed at destabilizing both Manipur and our nation" the Chief Minister posted on X.
Earlier in his Vijayadashami address in Nagpur RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also hinted at a possible international conspiracy behind the violence in Manipur.
"Does the geopolitics of South-East Asia also have a role in these events? Despite there being a strong government in the country, on whose strength and instigation has this violence continued unabated for so many days? Why did this violence erupt and continue even though there was a state government that wanted to maintain the peace that had prevailed over the last nine years?" Mohan Bhagwat said.
The state had been witness to a spiral of violence this year after the High Court directed the State to consider the inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribes list. (ANI)
