Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday wrote to the Director CBI on the issue of the slow investigation being conducted in Saradha Scam.
"Heartbroken and outraged to witness the horrific video from Manipur showing the brutal treatment of two women by a frenzied mob. No words can express the pain and anguish of witnessing the violence inflicted on marginalized women. This act of barbarism is beyond comprehension and humanity,"
Accusing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of the violence prevailing violence in the state, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Sukanta Majumdar on Wednesday said that BJP will not rest until the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is removed from power in the state.
When asked about media reports saying, "Congress is not in the race of Prime Ministerial face", TMC MP Shatabdi Roy said, "Then we would like Mamata Banerjee to be."
Lashing out at the 26-like minded parties for not inviting All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in the two-day opposition meeting concluded in Bengaluru on Tuesday, party leader Waris Pathan said that the "so called" secular parties are treating them as "political untouchables".
The development came as top leaders of 26 Opposition parties from across the country met in Bengaluru on Tuesday to discuss a united strategy to take on the ruling NDA alliance at the Centre, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
While speaking on the same, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi chief Thol Thirumavalavan said that the name was proposed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“Opposition parties are meeting in Bengaluru, and Mamata Banerjee is also participating. It is surprising that they are talking about democracy after killing democracy in West Bengal,” said BJP leader Saroj Pandey, as a fact-finding committee of the party reached West Bengal.
After the meeting of Opposition parties in Bengaluru, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday asked whether the National Democratic Alliance would be able to challenge the newly formed Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance or I.N.D.I.A.
The Opposition parties’ dinner meeting is underway in Karnataka's Bengaluru with leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, MK Stalin, Arvind Kejriwal, Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, and others.
Taking to Twitter, BJP leader Agnimitra Paul took a jibe at the CPI (M), asking not to ‘remove’ its rival TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee’s picture from its mouthpiece ‘Ganashakti’ after the opposition meeting.
