The ruling BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has won the Maharashtra assembly polls and is poised for a landslide mandate, while in Bihar, NDA candidates won all four Assembly constituencies where by-elections were held.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday joined celebrations at BJP headquarters following party-led Mahayuti's landslide victory in Maharashtra assembly elections and said people of the state have defeated "negative and parivarvad politics."

Earier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, as the Mahayuti is on course to a landslide victory in the assembly elections.
