New Delhi [India], November 23 (ANI): BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday described BJP's "historic victory" in Maharashtra assembly elections as a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development vision and policies.
Chug said that after the party's recent victory in Haryana, Maharashtra's big win confirms people's support for the Developed India vision of 2047. He also described Mahayuti's landslide victory in Maharashtra assembly polls as an unprecedented victory.
"These results are historic, where the Congress alliance has been reduced to only 50 seats. The public has completely rejected the Congress-led alliance in Maharashtra," he said.
Mentioning BJP's impressive performance in Uttar Pradesh bypolls, Chug said that BJP registered an impressive victory in Uttar Pradesh in the by-elections and BJP's vote share also increased in those seats where it was behind the majority. Almost all the seats in the by-elections of Bihar and Assam have been won by the BJP-led NDA alliance.
Referring to BJP's performance in the recent Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections and adding Maharashtra to that equation Chugh said, "people of the country have accepted Modi ji's development policies"
"The public has blessed the policies of poor welfare, youth, women and farmer welfare. BJP-led NDA alliance has also got about 29 seats in the by-elections of 14 states. And the vote percentage has also increased in all the states." Chugh added.
In Maharashtra, the BJP led the Mahayuti alliance to a smashing victory carrying its allies - Shiv Sena and NCP - with its momentum.
According to Election Commission data, the BJP has won or is leading in 132 seats. Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has won or is leading in 57 seats, while the NCP, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is poised to win 41 seats. The state has 288 assembly constituencies. (ANI)
