As monsoon mayhem continues to wreak havoc in Karnataka, River Kaveri water reached sections of the area's low-lying Kodagu district and caused alarm among the residents, officials said on Tuesday.
"From Chhijarsi to Ecotech, water entered the houses in three low-lying areas. Poeple were evacuated from the houses. However, the river has not crossed the danger mark anywhere yet", said Suresh Rao A. Kulkarni, Additional Police Commissioner.
Following continuous rainfall in parts of Uttarakhand, Met Department on Tuesday issued an alert regarding possible inundation of low-lying areas and landslides in hilly areas, an official statement said.
The situation of waterlogging in several low lying areas of Delhi, including on roads from Kashmere Gate to Majnu Ka Tila, has improved today as the water level slowly recedes, it said.

As the water level in the Yamuna River in Delhi breached the 45-year record of 207.49 metres and reached 208.05 metres on Wednesday, thousands of people were forced to leave their homes in low-lying areas.
"It has been raining continuously for the last two days in Punjab, due to which people are facing difficulties in the low-lying areas and especially in the areas near the rivers. I have issued instructions to all my Ministers, MLAs and DCs and SSPs of all districts to reach out to people,
The rainwater entered inside the houses and a large number of families were shifted to relief camps opened by district authorities. The district authorities have opened 17 relief camps in Alappuzha in view of heavy rains.
