The opposition-led Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc meeting is underway at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in the national capital on Saturday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday concluded his 45-hour meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Tamil Nadu's Kanniyakumari and paid floral tributes to Tamil saint-poet Thiruvalluvar.
The seventh and the final phase of polling for Lok Sabha elections on June 1 across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh saw a voter turnout of 49.68 per cent till 3 pm, the Election Commission (ECI) said on Saturday.
"I am hopeful that people in large numbers are going to vote for the Congress party as they want change in the central government. It is difficult for them (BJP) to cross even 200 seats," Pratibha Singh told ANI.
The seventh and final phase of polling in the largest festival of democracy started on Saturday as voting started in the last 57 parliamentary constituencies at 7 am across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Prime Minister Modi is currently in Kanniyakumari, engaged in meditation at the Dhyan Mandapam, the very site where revered Hindu philosopher Swami Vivekananda is believed to have had a divine vision about 'Bharat Mata'. His meditation is slated to continue till today.
