Security forces launched a search operation following a brief exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar on Sunday, police said.
Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Police have initiated an operation in the Kapran Garol area of South Kashmir's Kishtwar range, following intelligence reports of terrorists infiltrating the region.
The shrine of the Shree Chandi Mata Mandir of Machail Paddar in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir crossed the 50-thousand mark in number of pilgrims taking darshan in this year of the Shree Machail Mata Yatra on Sunday.
The police said, as per reports, one constable, namely Sham Lal, joined District Kishtwar on November 9, 2023, while he was under suspension on account of his prolonged absence and indulgence in criminal cases.
Extensive searches were conducted in Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts of Jammu province by NIA teams in the case relating to the conspiracy by banned terrorist organizations and their offshoots to carry out violent attacks with sticky bombs, IEDs, small arms, etc., in Jammu and Kashmir,
