Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to rise above differences and support the BJP in the upcoming assembly election to prevent the resurgence of separatism and terrorism in the valley.
The decision has been taken to honour both the voting rights and the traditions of the Bishnoi community, which has upheld a centuries-old practice of participating in the Asoj Amavasya festival celebration in remembrance of their Guru Jambheshwar as per the ECI.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference candidate from the Budhal Assembly constituency, Mohd Javed Choudhary on Wednesday thanked the party's high command and said that JKNC is a secular party that works for the welfare of the people.
JKNC candidate from Mendhar Assembly Constituency, Javed Ahmed Rana on Tuesday thanked the party's high command and the people of Mendhar adding that the party's biggest agenda is to make Pir Panjal region a separate administrative division.
Meanwhile, National Conference (NC) will contest 51 of 90 seats and Congress 32 according to the seat-sharing pact reached by the two parties for the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir. The two parties will also have "friendly contest" on five seats.
Ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) assembly polls, National Conference (NC) candidate from Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, said on Tuesday that the aim of their party's alliance with Congress is to defeat communal forces in the valley.
"The BJP should focus on setting its house in order...For the first time, I saw that the BJP deleted its list within 10 minutes of releasing it. Today, chairs were broken in their offices," Abdullah said.

US diplomats including Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs Graham Mayer and First Secretary Gary Applegarth met National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah at his Gupkar residence in Srinagar on Monday.
