"IndiGo flight 6E6595 operating from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad experienced a tail strike while landing in Ahmedabad. The aircraft was declared grounded at Ahmedabad airport for necessary assessment and repairs. The incident is under investigation by relevant authorities," the airline stated.
According to the DGCA, IndiGo A321-252NX (Neo) aircraft VT-IMG while operating flight 6E-6183, sector Kolkata - Delhi was involved in a tail strike while landing at Delhi.
As per a DGCA statement, "An IndiGo Delhi-Chennai flight (6E-2789) safely returned to Indira Gandhi International Airport within an hour of take-off on Saturday night following a snag in engine".
Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameswar Teli, and two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs Prasanta Phukan and Terash Gowalla were also on board flight 6E2652 when it made an emergency landing at Guwahati airport.
"Based on specific information received, a male passenger who arrived from Jeddah by Indigo flight 6E-068 at 8:30 AM on May 16 was intercepted by Customs Air Intelligence officers of Hyderabad Customs, RGIA," a customs official said.
The flight was reported to have suddenly descended from a 35,000 ft to 15,000 ft enroute to Singapore due to cabin pressurisation and was forced to divert at Kualanamu airport in Indonesia.
Detailing the incident the release said, "A passenger travelling on flight 6E 308 from Delhi to Bangalore tried opening the flap of the emergency exit in an inebriated state."
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has confirmed that IndiGo Flight 6E897 had taken off from Bengaluru for Varanasi but made an emergency landing at 6:15 am after diverting to Shamshadabad airport.
