President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday oversaw the signing of four Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between India and Mauritius to enhance cooperation in the financial services sector, information sharing and capacity building to combat corruption and money laundering.
President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday performed 'Jalabhishek' at the Mangalmurti Mahadev during her ongoing state visit to Mauritius while offering prayers along with Gangajal at the sacred Ganga Talao.
In a post on X, the official spokesperson of MEA, Randhir Jaiswal wrote, "A historic visit concludes! President Droupadi Murmu @rashtrapatibhvn successfully wraps up her 3-day State Visit to Mauritius, setting a new landmark in bilateral ties."
Lauding the partnership between the two nations, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra has said that Mauritius is a very important component and segment of the priorities under India's neighbourhood policy.
President Droupadi Murmu affirmed India's growth in all spheres on Tuesday, stating that the new Bharat is dynamic and progressive. She added that the country is moving towards entering the list of the top three global economies.
President Droupadi Murmu hailed the ties between India and Mauritius, stating that the relation has grown stronger through the decades, through securing the shared waters of the Indian Ocean, sharing Covid vaccines during the pandemic and supporting each other in global platforms.
The decision would allow the younger Mauritians of Indian origin to become overseas citizens of India and to reconnect with the land of their ancestors.
