Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh on Monday criticised the INDIA bloc's proposed march from Parliament to the Election Commission's office in protest of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar.
Leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will stage a protest at 10:30 AM in front of Makar Dwar inside the Parliament complex over the issue of the Bihar Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, along with other Opposition MPs, joined the protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the "arrest of labourers in BJP-ruled states" outside Parliament.
Moreover, the Opposition MPs have called off their protest against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar, which was scheduled to be held at Makar Dwar, following the demise of Shibu Soren. However, the issue will be raised inside the house.
Several senior Congress leaders, including the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and party leader Priyanka Gandhi, also participated in the protest. The MPs marched from the Gandhi statue on the Parliament premises ahead of the start of the day's session.
"The way they are protesting is hooliganism. Hooliganism and anarchy is being spread both in Bihar and Parliament. Secondly, when everything is out in the open (with Special Intensive Revision (SIR)), what is the issue? Who is being deprived of the right to vote?... " Singh told ANI.
Multiple leaders, including Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav stood at the steps of the Parliament at Makar Dwar and protested against the Bihar SIR, calling for the exercise to be stopped.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also joined the protest.
Congress MP Jebi Mather spoke on this and said that no GST should be applied to health and life insurance. She further added that this decision of the government reflects no respect for human faith.
"The finance ministry has given an impetus to the job makers and the job seekers. They should look at the budget with the people in view, not the politics in view," said Suresh Gopi.
