New Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and opted to field against India, in the first T20I of the five-match series, here at Arun Jaitely Stadium on Thursday.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant as Captain and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain for the home series against South Africa.
Team India are chasing history during the bilateral series - should they win the opening match, they will achieve an all-time record of winning 13 consecutive T20Is.
Team India and South Africa will be squaring off for a five-match T20I series, with the first match to be played on June 9 at Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi. The second match will be played on June 12.
The first match of the series will be an opportunity for the hosts to chase an all-time 13-0 T20I winning record and be counted among the great teams in this format in the year ICC T20 World Cup will be held.
