Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel on Monday said that the injured people after the Morbi cable bridge collapse are being treated at the hospitals and many have been sent home after treatment.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Zbigniew Rau condemned the incident of the Gujarat Morbi bridge collapse and expressed his sincere condolences, saying the city has a special place in Polish-Indian relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a three-day tour to Gujarat and Rajasthan has decided to cancel his roadshow to be held in Ahmedabad on Monday in the wake of the Morbi cable bridge collapse incident in which over 60 people lost their lives.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met with the injured patients admitted to Morbi Civil Hospital after they were injured in the collapse of the cable bridge.
The National Disaster Response Force has already reached the spot and rescue operations are underway after the unfortunate incident which claimed the lives of over 60 persons.
A high-end SUV stopped near a shop after which a man came holding a gun and started threatening and pushing the driver of the car. He snatched the car key from the driver.
"More than 60 people have died. 17 people are admitted to the hospital at the moment. The Chief Minister is coming. The incident took place at around 6.40 pm," the Minister told ANI.
As many as 35 people have lost their lives so far after a cable bridge collapsed on the Machchhu river in Gujarat's Morbi on Sunday, state Minister Brijesh Merja said, who is present at the incident spot.
