Firing took place at the residence of an Indian-origin man in Canada's Surrey. Following this, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has been investigating the incident.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has condemned the incident in which a woman was attacked with sharp weapons and burnt to death by a group of six persons for allegedly practising witchcraft in Assam's Sonitpur district.
"The incident of a bus catching fire in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, is heartbreaking. May God give strength to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy. I wish a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident," the Home Minister posted on 'X'.
"It is a sad incident. I am in constant contact with the Collector and SP. I am visiting Guna right now. I have ordered to carry out an investigation. We will find out how the accident took place and take strict action against the people responsible for this," Yadav told ANI.
"Some gas cylinders exploded, which led to the fire. Two persons have been injured in the incident. Police and the local administration have cordoned off the site of the incident at the very moment," ASP Rajesh Raghuvanshi said.
As the countdown for the New Year celebration has begun Navi Mumbai police also started gearing itself to ensure that the festivities go on peacefully without any untoward incidents.
