As Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag today as the nation marks its 77th Independence Day, Chief Minister of different states also hoisted the national flag in their respective states.
On the occasion of 77th Independence Day, Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha recalled that three years ago he had shared his dream of making a new Jammu and Kashmir in which there is modernity and spirituality.
"I wish you a very happy 77th Independence Day. I convey my message to the people of the state to restore peace and normalcy. I appeal to all to end violence and live together peacefully as before," Singh said after hoisting the National Flag at the First Manipur Parade Ground here.
Former Deputy Prime Minister and veteran BJP leader LK Advani on Tuesday hoisted the national flag at his residence here to mark the 77th Independence Day.
