The Chief Minister on Monday attended the fourth Foundation Day celebration of the Gorukhuti Multipurpose Agriculture Project in Darrang district, describing the initiative as a symbol of Assamese self-reliance.
Under this scheme, approximately 20,000 dairy farmers associated with 601 dairy cooperative societies across the State would receive assistance of Rs. 5 per litre of milk, for up to 30 litres per day.
The Assam CM announced that the NDBB (National Dairy Development Board) and the state government are jointly working to set up new processing units in Silchar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat and other locations.
