As per the data available from the State Disaster Management Authority, "601 roads including 5 national Highways are closed and 1436 electricity supply schemes are hampered and 124 water supply schemes are also disrupted due to snowfall in the region."
As many as 475 roads, including five national highways, were closed in Himachal Pradesh. 333 electricity supply schemes and 57 water supply schemes were also disrupted due to snowfall in the region, according to the State Disaster Management Authority.
Over 566 roads are currently closed across various regions of Himachal Pradesh, including nearly six national highways, due to heavy snowfall. Additionally, approximately 700 electricity supply schemes are disrupted in the state.
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for snowfall and rainfall in several parts of the hill state, Himachal Pradesh during the next 48 hours.
