In a joint operation, Assam Rifles and police seized around 216 grams of heroin and apprehended a drug peddler in Assam's Cachar district on Tuesday, officials said.
The Assam Rifles, in an anti-narcotics operation, seized narcotics weighing 277 gm valued at approximately Rs. 1,93,90,000 and apprehended three individuals in the Siahatla area of Siaha district, Mizoram, as per a press release on Saturday.
"We caught a person and recovered 30 soap boxes and four leather bags containing heroin weighing 4.765 kg from his possession. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around Rs 24 crore," ASP Subrata Sen said.

Border Security Force recovered one packet of suspected heroin during an extensive search operation near village Roranwala Khurd in Punjab's Amritsar district, officials said on Monday.
In a press statement, the CPRO of Assam police said, "Based on an input, a raid was conducted at Lalmati area under Basistha police station jurisdiction by STF, Assam on Friday evening and apprehended two drug peddlers."
