Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a narcotic substance suspected to be heroin from a farming field in Gurdaspur on Saturday morning, BSF said in a press release.
Shimla police on Friday claimed to have busted an inter-state drug racket, recovering 169 grams of heroin and arresting four drug peddlers in the process.

BSF troops, after observing drone movement and receiving specific information regarding the presence of narcotics, launched a search operation and recovered 6.130 kg of heroin.
Punjab police have busted two separate cross-border drug smuggling cartels being operated by Pakistan-based smugglers, arrested three drug traffickers, and recovered a total of 9.2 kg heroin from their possession.
"NIA has found out that there are international drug cartels in Tamil Nadu and Karachi that are operating and getting heroin from Afghanistan. It is being done. I think it is a very serious thing," Governor RN Ravi said.
