Petitioners wrote a letter to the Registrar of the Supreme Court stating that the case was listed before apex court on May 19, 2023, when it had deferred the implementation of the directions till July 6, 2023.
Welcoming the judgement, the VHP leader Alok Kumar said, "Technical objections have been negated. The suit would now proceed on merits and we do see a success at the end of the tunnel."
Notably, the Allahabad High Court on Friday, allowed the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct carbon dating of alleged 'Shivling', which was found during the survey in the Gyanvapi Mosque campus.
The court has also given time till May 19 to the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee to file objections to the fresh petition filed by the Hindu side. A copy of the application was also given to the Masjid Committee.
Notably, more than half a dozen cases have been filed in the court on the Gyanvapi case and hearing of all these is going on in different courts. Now, the court will deliver the verdict on hearing many cases of one nature, together.
The counsel for the petitioners, Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, said only a scientific survey (carbon dating) can bring forth correct information on the 'Shivling' found in the Gyanvapi mosque complex, along with other religious items.
