Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the forest fire-affected Ganderbal district of Kashmir valley and assured the families of all the possible support from the government.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah arrived at the scene of the fire incident in the main market of Sonamarg in Ganderbal district of the Union Territory on Tuesday, to take stock of the situation firsthand.
Speaking to ANI, the DCP said, "An unfortunate incident unfolded here in Sonamarg yesterday wherein many shops were damaged. Our revenue and fire services team is here. We have assessed the damaged shops and we will forward the report today so the shop owners can get some relief."
The tunnel was constructed at a cost of Rs 2,717 crore and spanning a length of 11.98 km in Sonamarg to transform connectivity and bolster economic activity in the region.
"Not only in Kulgam but Budgam and Ganderbal, young boys are being picked up and I want to ask the government are all of them militants? Why are they looking at everyone with suspicion? This is wrong," Mufti told reporters here.
