Taj Mahal experienced reduced fog today, offering clear views. Meanwhile, Varanasi's spiritual tourism thrives despite a cold wave gripping Purvanchal, with the Kashi Vishwanath Temple seeing a record influx of winter vacation devotees.
In an update shared at 7.30 PM, Delhi Airport officials said that the visibility at the airport had improved, allowing all flight operations to resume.
"The cold is increasing now. I am an employee at the Railways. There was dense fog between 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM. I am being cautious while going out, protecting myself from the cold," Shailendra Kumar said while sipping tea outside the Prayagraj railway station.
"While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," Delhi Airport said in an advisory post
"6ETravelAdvisory: With winter in full swing, many regions in Northern India are experiencing varying fog conditions. On some days, fog may be dense, while on others, lighter fog could still impact flight schedules," the post read.
Delhi was shrouded in dense fog as a cold wave gripped the city on Saturday morning. As the harsh winter continued many homeless people were seen staying at night shelters.
According to officials, dense fog reduced visibility at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), Guwahati leading to delays and cancellations.
Rajasthan woke up to a chilly morning on Friday, as temperatures dropped across several districts of the state, severely affecting the daily life of the people.
Taking to social media X, the authority wrote in a post "While landing and take offs continue at Delhi airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected."
