As Prayagraj prepares to host the Mahakumbh, a massive gathering of devotees, tea vendors from Western Uttar Pradesh have descended upon the Sangam Ghat, braving the cold weather prevailing in the holy city.
According to Indian Railways, on Friday morning, around 26 trains in the Northern Railway region are delayed due to poor visibility and other operational factors. The delays range from over an hour to more than eight hours.
Delhi woke up to a blanket of dense fog on Wednesday, as a cold wave swept across the city, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures along with chilly winds, resulting in reduced visibility.
A thick layer of fog continues to cover many parts of North India, leading to train delays. As per information, several trains have been cancelled or diverted at Ayodhya Railway due to the dense fog.
As per the Met Department, the minimum forecasted temperature is 8 degrees Celsius for the day while the maximum temperature is anticipated to reach around 19 degrees Celsius along with "dense fog" blanketing the city.
