Six people have been killed and at least 8 injured in seven provinces across Afghanistan due to recent rains and flooding, TOLOnews reported citing the Taliban-led State Ministry for Disaster Management.
Shafiullah Rahimi, a spokesperson for the Taliban-led Ministry of Natural Disaster Management, said that six people have died and eight have suffered injuries during the floods affecting several provinces of Afghanistan, TOLOnews reported.
"Honourable Chief Minister has directed all officials to be present on the ground and keep a tight vigil on the situation", said the official statement by Chief Minister's Office.
Extreme rain events, particularly those that cause flash floods in the south and east of Israel in spring and fall are particularly difficult to forecast even a short while in advance.
Ahead of the upcoming monsoon season, the Uttar Pradesh government on the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is close to completing all the necessary preparations to deal with floods, an official statement said on Tuesday.
"Saving lives and property is our priority during floods, all districts should be in alert mode", said the Chief Minister."

According to Rahimi, the incidents took place in Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Takhar, Badakhshan, Ghor, Kandahar, Kunar, Nuristan, Laghman, Paktia, Khost, Daikundi and Nangarhar.
The case pertains to the state government's LIFE Mission project, which intended to provide homes to the poor who lost their houses in the floods of 2018. The housing project was proposed at Vaddakanchery in the Thrissur district.
