More than 41,000 people from eight districts of Assam have been affected by floods as heavy rains accompanied by strong winds lashed several parts of the state following the landfall of Cyclone Remal on Sunday night.

The flood situation in Assam's Morigaon district has deteriorated after the flood waters inundated new areas affecting over 15,000 people in the district.
Millions of children in Pakistan remain dependent on humanitarian assistance as recovery and rehabilitation efforts from last year’s catastrophic floods lack sufficient funding, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned on Friday.

The flood waters have damaged several roads and washed away many houses in the area. Many people of Basbari area are facing massive problems include food crisis, drinking water and many of them have become homeless.
The flood situation in the Dhemaji district of Assam has become grim as nearly 18,000 people have been affected by the current wave of flood. 48 villages under four revenue circles of the district have been inundated by flood waters and submerged 530.07 hectares of cropland.
Thousands of people in Assam's Bajali, Nalbari, and Barpeta districts have been affected and are taking shelter in relief camps after the flood waters of several tributaries of Brahmaputra river submerged their homes.
