Amid the political free-for-all between the ruling AAP and the BJP over the alleged assault on Rajya Sabha MP and former DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal; the accused former personal secretary of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bibhav Kumar, was arrested on Friday, Delhi Police confirmed.
Several schools in Kanpur received bomb threats through emails, triggering panic in the city. This comes amid a spate of such emails threatening schools and hospitals in several cities including Delhi-NCR and Jaipur.
After a total of 55 schools received bomb threats in Jaipur via email, Rajasthan Minister and BJP leader Jawahar Singh Baidham said that there's no need to get scared adding that the incident is an attempt to disturb the law and order situation in the state from abroad.
The hospitals that got bomb threat emails include -- Dada Dev Hospital in Dabri, Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital in Hari Nagar, Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Dilshad Garden, Hindu Rao Hospital in Malka Ganj, and Aruna Asaf Ali Govt Hospital at Rajpur Road.
Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and over half a dozen government hospitals in Delhi received bomb threats through email on Sunday, sending authorities at the respective establishments into a tizzy.
Ahmedabad Crime Branch JCP Sharad Singhal told ANI, "On May 6, 36 schools in Ahmedabad received bomb threat emails... After immediate inspection, it was revealed that the intention was to spread fear... An FIR was registered with the cyber crime branch... The mail was sent through a Russian

In a post on X, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs posted, "The Home Secretary reviewed the situation in the wake of hoax emails received by some schools in Delhi last week. He stressed the need to prepare detailed protocols and SOPs to handle any such situation in the future.
The Ahmedabad Police jumped into action on receiving the emails and started an investigation. The police did not find any suspect or explosives at any of the schools, they said.
