A total of 21 bodies have been recovered so far after a major landslide hit Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil in Maharashtra's Raigad district on July 19 following the torrential rains in the region, officials said on Friday.
Maharashtra BJP has instructed its party workers to observe Sewa Diwas tomorrow and help people in distress due to heavy rains, landslides and floods etc. No one to put any celebratory or congratulatory posters banners etc, all party workers have been instructed.
As many as 16 people were killed and several others were injured after the landslide occurred at Irshalwadi village in Khalapur tehsil in Maharashtra's Raigad district on Thursday, officials said.
"12 bodies have been retrieved from the debris in Irshalwadi, Raigad; also, one rescuer died of cardiac arrest. Total of 13 deaths till now," police said on Thursday.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday expressed grief over the landslide incident in Raigad that killed at least four people. He also announced an aid of five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased, said officials.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday morning arrived at the site of the landslide in Raigad district, where four people were killed and several are feared trapped under debris.
While addressing the media, CM Shinde said, "I have ordered the Commissioner of BMC to assure people get back to their homes safely and rescue those who are stuck in the rain".
Representatives from a total of 38 political parties were in attendance as the meeting the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP got underway in the national capital on Tuesday evening.
