Mumbai police's anti-extortion cell recovered 15.743 kg of Ketamine (drug) worth Rs 8 crore and arrested two persons with international links in Mumbai's Andheri area, officials said on Thursday.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday arrested one man from Punjab's Ludhiana who had been leading an international drug syndicate and seized 53 liquor vends and 13 sub vends from his possession.
In a joint operation, the police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Sunday seized 3.5 kg of heroin worth Rs 16 crore from a vehicle and arrested two drug peddlers in Assam's Karbi Anglong district.
Mumbai Customs, Zone-III today destroyed drugs weighing 140.57 kg at the incineration facility of Mumbai Waste Management Limited (MWML) located at Taloja in Navi Mumbai. The drugs seized are valued at Rs. 538 Crore in the international illicit market.
"Further physical examination confirmed approximately 2,486 kilograms of opium within 247 shipping pallets. The drugs seized were turned over to the RCMP FSOC unit for further criminal investigation," CSBA said.
