Shortly after Lok Sabha resumed its proceedings at noon on Tuesday, the Lower House of Parliament was adjourned just nine minutes later till 2 PM amid continued sloganeering by Opposition MPs demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Speaking to ANI, Rijiju said, "We have repeatedly urged to hold discussions in a peaceful and disciplined manner. We have always said that to raise one issue, you can't compromise on other issues. It is not right for some parties to disrupt the House."
Speaking to ANI, Aujla said, "We are raising the issue of SIR in the House, and the government should discuss it. SIR should be stopped because this system of vote-splitting is absolutely wrong."
According to the Congress MP, the process of conducting the SIR is aimed at "towards violating the fundamental rights of the people of Kerala" and an attempt to "disturb the process of free and fair elections," which will happen in 2026.
