Kalaburagi administration has launched an anti-mosquito fogging drive to curb the rise in dengue cases in the district. Dengue cases are on the rise in the state due to heavy rainfall and water logging.
Dr Balbir Singh, while reviewing the activities being carried out by various departments to deal with the growing threat of dengue, Malaria and other vector-borne diseases, instructed all the departments to work in tandem to control the spread of these diseases.
Bangladesh reported four more death due to dengue in the last 24 hours till Monday morning, taking the total tally to 251 this year, Dhaka Tribune reported.
The BJP leaders carried a giant mosquito replica and held placards protesting against the mismanagement of the dengue epidemic by the state government.

A total of 2,292 new dengue cases were recorded in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning in Bangladesh, the highest number of hospitalization in a day in 2023.
The dengue outbreak had taken the worst toll on Bangladesh, as 109 deaths were recorded and 20,465 positive cases in the past 21 days, making July the worst month.
"Aspirin, Ibuprofen and Diclofenac group of medicines may be restricted to be sold on a prescription of a Registered Medical Practitioner only," read the advisory.
Talking to the reporters, Shelly said, "We are here today to inspect the hospitals. As there is the flood-water everywhere, there is a possibility of diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria. So, instructions have been issued to the sanitation department to carry out a cleanliness drive
