The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi Police's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to monitor the probe of the murder of a man namely Gaurav Chauhan who was found dead in suspicious circumstances at his flat in Mayur Vihar in December 2020.
The Kartarpur Corridor, connecting the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib near Lahore in Pakistan to Gurudwara Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district, is set to reopen today as the flood-situation eased near the India-Pakistan border.
The incident took place when the businessman was returning to his home and reached near his colony under Khajrana police station limits in the city. The businessman has been identified as Syed Irshad (30), a resident of Pakiza Colony, Khajrana locality in the city.
DCP South Chandan Chaudhary, on Saturday, said that credible information was received regarding an illegal call centre who were duping people on the pretext of providing jobs in airport authority.
A wanted criminal carrying a Rs 10,000 cash reward in his name, was arrested after a police encounter New Agra police station area during the early hours of Sunday.
"120 Chinese manjha rolls were seized and legal action was taken against 44 people. CP has given instructions to DCPs and action taken is being monitored to ensure strict action on the ground," an official statement of Delhi police said.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a high-level meeting following the tragic accident in Ahmedabad on Thursday, which claimed nine lives, and instructed officials to take strict action against the accused.
The accused said that the extortion calls were made in revenge for an unpaid transaction payment that was due with the complainant, DCP Outer North Ravi Kumar Singh said.
The investigation into the matter is underway and further sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act will also be increased into the matter, the officer added.
"Manzoor and his family were opposed to the relationship. The father of the girl had spoken with the deceased a week ago and warned him to not pursue his daughter," said, Joy Tirkey, DCP (northeast).
