Supporters of NCP chief and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar gathered outside Ahilyabai Holkar Government Medical College to pay their final respects as his mortal remains were taken out.
The post-mortems of pilot Captain Sumit Kapoor and co-pilot Captain Sambhiav Pathak were conducted at the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government Medical College in Baramati. Following the procedure, the bodies were released to their respective families.
A chartered aircraft flying from Mumbai to Baramati crash-landed at around 8.45 am on Wednesday, killing all five people on board. The deceased included Ajit Pawar, his personal security officer, a flight attendant and two crew members, including pilot Vidip Jadhav.
"It is a tragic incident. He was a senior Maharashtra leader and a member of the Pawar family, as we all know. This plane crash is subject to investigation to determine how such an incident happened and whether there was any flaw..." Chowdhury told reporters on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters in Jaunpur on Wednesday, Pinki Mali's grandmother said the family received the devastating news around 9.30 am. She said the shock was overwhelming for the family, especially Pinki's parents, who broke down upon learning that their daughter was no more.
