The mandate of the Tamil Nadu voters is against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in favour of Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister of the country, says Congress leader S Jothimani who won the Karur Lok Sabha seat for the second consecutive time in the 2024 election.
After the BJP-led NDA alliance fell short of gaining the expected numbers, Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that in states where the BJP expected to increase its numbers, like West Bengal, Haryana, and Rajasthan, people have rejected them.
"The people of India have saved the Constitution and democracy. The deprived and poor population of the country stood with India to protect their rights. Congratulations to all the alliance partners and the lion-like workers of the Congress party," said the Congress leader.
Maharashtra Congress leader Nana Patole on Tuesday launched a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections proved to be the defeat of PM Modi and BJP.
"We are thankful for the way our leader Rahul Gandhi fought against these fascist forces. Now the people of India are realizing his calibre, innocence and affection towards the poor, everything is recognised by the Indian people. We are very glad and thankful," Venugopal said.
Senior Congress leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Tuesday that he expected the party to win more than 14 seats but the people "have given a message" as the party managed to win only 9 seats in the state in the Lok Sabha elections.
Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat launched a scathing attack at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying that those who gave the slogan of '400 paar' has struggled to attain even 272 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"This is a good result, and for those (the BJP) claiming to get 400 seats, their claim has fallen flat. The BJP has not got an absolute majority. They don't have any moral right to form a government. People have rejected them. This is a big victory (for INDI alliance)," Shukla told ANI.

Congress leader and candidate from Rajgarh Lok Sabha seat Digvijaya Singh congratulated Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for the election results and asserted that BJP will not secure majority which will result in infighting within the party.
A delegation of Congress leaders met the Election Commission of India (ECI) and complained about the delay in the updation on the ECI websites on Tuesday.
