India produced 384.07 million tonnes (MT) of coal overall between April and August of 2024, up 6.36 per cent from 361.11 MT in the same period the previous year, the Ministry of Coal said in a statement.
The overall coal production has seen an upswing reaching at 384.08 million tonnes (Provisional) up to August 2024 in FY 2024-25, compared to 360.71 MT during the same period in FY 2023-24.
In addition to increased production, the overall coal dispatch has also seen a notable rise. As of August 25, 2024, the cumulative coal dispatch for FY 2024-25 stood at 397.06 MT, reflecting a 5.48 per cent increase from the 376.44 MT dispatched during the corresponding period last year.
