At least 15 labourers were killed near the village of Bahpani in the Kukdur police station area of Chhattisgarh's Kawardha district after a pickup truck fell into a ditch.

An exchange of fire broke out on Saturday between naxals and security forces in the border areas of Dhamtari and Gariaband in which one naxal died on the spot and three to four naxals were injured, Naxal in-charge SDOP RK Mishra said.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma appealed to the Naxals to join the mainstream and find solutions through talks with the government. His appeal came hours after 12 Naxalites were killed in an encounter in Bijapur on Friday.
