Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren offered prayers to the setting sun at the Hatnia pond on the occasion of Chhath festival 2023. He wished for prosperity in the state on this occasion.
Cricketer Ishan Kishan's mother, Suchitra Singh, offered 'arghya' to Suryadev (Sun God) as part of "Chhath Puja" at her Patna residence and prayed for India's victory in the World Cup 2023 against Australia.
Speaking at an event organised by the All India Bhojpuri Samaj in Lucknow on the occasion of Chhath Puja, the UP CM said that faith kept the country together in adverse conditions.
On the occasion of Chhath, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar offered 'Arghya' to the setting sun at his residence and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the state.
"You make prasadi after your puja, which you give to us. We wait eagerly for your thekuas...We worship sun god everyday. We live close to Ma Ganga and love her. Wish you all a happy and prosperous Chhat puja for your society," Mamata said while attending Chhath Puja at Takhta ghat on Sunday.
Chhatt Puja is celebrated every year with much exuberance in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bengal. However, celebrations are also witnessed in the national capital, where a large section of people from the aforementioned states live.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to the people on the occasion of Chhatt Puja, a four-day-long festival celebrated after Diwali to worship the sun and water.
