Former President of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) Dhananjay has filed a complaint with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) against JNU Vice Chancellor Santishree D. Pandit over allegedly hateful remarks made on a public platform.
The Union alleged that the attackers were against the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, adding that the "goons" were "given full freedom" to attack the students by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Santishree D Pandit.
Her clarification comes amid protests by student organisations, including the JNU Students' Union (JNUSU), which have demanded her resignation over the remarks made in a podcast published on February 16.
"The Registry is directed to issue a notice to the DCP, North Delhi and the Vice Chancellor, Delhi University, with directions to get the allegations made in the complaint inquired into and to submit an Action Taken Report within two weeks for perusal of the Commission," the NHRC stated i
