The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the General Manager and Project Director, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 Lakhs from employees of a private company for showing undue favour to the said company.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four people in connection with a case involving the demand and acceptance of a bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh in exchange for the payment of outstanding bills from the aforementioned private company, an official release said.
As per the allegations, the accused had demanded an undue advantage of Rs 5.4 lakh from the complainant for issuing a lower TDS certificate in respect of the sale of a property of the complainant's maternal uncle, who is an NRI.
It was alleged that Ram Prakash Pandey, DGM of ECL in the Mugma area in Dhanbad demanded a bribe of Rs 75,000 from a 50 per cent handicapped "general mazdoor" to change his duty in the mine.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an assistant garrison engineer (AGE) of the Military Engineer Services (MES) at Jalipa Military Station, Barmer, Rajasthan for accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from the complainant.
The arrested accused were identified as Suresh Chandra Jain, Principal, (IRTS), Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI), Central Railway, Bhusawal and Yogesh A. Deshmukh, Office Supdt, ZTRI, Bhusawal.
The arrested individuals include a Deputy General Manager (DGM) and a Project Director from NHAI's Project Implementation Units (PIUs) located in Bhopal and Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh respectively.
The CBI laid a trap, and after the delivery of a bribe of Rs 20 lakh to the general & project manager of NHAI by an employee of the said private company, they were apprehended.
