The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Sukanya Mondal after 16 months after her arrest in a money laundering case linked to India-Bangladesh border cattle smuggling. She is daughter of Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal.
Around 30 people were detained after an altercation broke out between two groups in Phulwari Sharif here on the suspicion of cattle being shifted illegally, which were already under police protection. The cattles were being allegedly smuggled on September 4.
The Rouse Avenue court has issued notice to the Endorsement Directorate (ED) on the bail plea of Anubrata Mondal, who is one of the accused in the cattle smuggling case. He has been granted bail by the Supreme court in the CBI case.
According to officials, the person has been identified as Ramnivas Meena. The officials confirmed that he was returning home after grazing his cattle when he slipped into the river and lost his life.

The Assam Police on Thursday arrested a Bangladeshi national and three Indian nationals for their alleged involvement in cattle smuggling in Assam's Nagaon district.
Following an input that a foul smell is coming out of a house due to the deaths of cattle, the team was dispatched to the village, the statement added.
